Belva Mae Vincent Christensen

Beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother. Returned  to  her loving Father-In-Heaven following a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s.

She was born to Stanley James and Edith Lois Holther Vincent and raised in Salt Lake City.

She married the love of her life James Martin Christensen on Sept. 22, 1952   in the   Salt   Lake LDS Temple. They lived  and   raised  their   family  in  Woods Cross for 34 years.

While raising seven children, mom worked for the Valley Music Hall (now known as   the Regional Center   for   the   LDS Church) for  many   years.  We   all   loved   it   when we were able to attend the musicals and concerts that were held there.

Following Her work at the Valley Music Hall, She worked for Ballard Wade Subaru. Following her work there, she worked for The Salt Lake Golden Eagles Hockey Club. She retired from her job at the Salt Lake   Golden   Eagles  when  she and  Dad  decided  to serve  a mission  for  The  Church  of Jesus Christ of  Latter-day Saints. They served in  the Canada Calgary Mission from February 1988  to September 1989. Following their mission they moved to North Salt Lake. She   and   Dad  served  in  the  Salt  Lake LDS Temple  for  three  years and in the Bountiful Utah LDS Temple for seven years.

Mom’s greatest love in life was her family, she always wanted a big family and she and Dad were blessed with  seven children. They were often blessed with a few extra who needed a place to stay. Our home was small and often crowded but  Mom always told us if there’s room in your heart there’s room in your home.

She loved serving in the Mutual organization where she served for many years and grew to love all the girls she worked with. She also loved having the opportunity to serve as the Relief Society President, she  and  Dad loved serving together as the Temple Preparation Teachers.

She  is  survived  by  her  seven  children,  Christina (Brad) Panos, Judy (George) Bell, Vickie (Milt) Buhrman, Margie (Kirk) Swensen, Marty Christensen, Cindie (Karl) Badger, Larry (Nan) Christensen, 21 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband Jim, her brother Jack Vincent,  and   her sister  Joyce Vincent  Poulton,  her grandson Travis Karl Badger and her great grandsons Skyler Everett Laing, Mitchell Travis Buhrman.

She is very loved and considered an elect lady by all her children and grandchildren.
