Dennis Carl Barlow beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away Feb. 7, 2018 at the age of 75. He was born May 28, 1942 in Bountiful, to Wilford Shreeve and Gladys Miller Barlow. He graduated from Bountiful High School. He attended BYU. He was a missionary in the North Central States Mission.
He had a strong testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ and served as a Bishopric counselor, Stake YM President, Stake Missionary, Temple Worker and many other callings. He also served many years with the Boy Scouts of America as a Scout leader, district chairman and was the recipient of the Silver Beaver award.
He was employed by the Utah Highway Patrol for 21 years retiring in 1989. After his retirement he worked at Smiths & Edwards, Big Boy Toys and Sportsman’s Warehouse.
He enjoyed archery, hunting, camping, and riding his 4-wheeler.
He was sealed to his eternal companion Patricia Ann Lovering on Feb. 14, 1964 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
He is survived by his wife Pat, his children Lori Kelley, Keli (Steve) Peterson, Brad (Kathleen) Barlow, Kevin (Nikki) Barlow, Scott (Megan) Barlow and Amanda (Nate) Thorsted. Brothers Larry (Tilly) Barlow and Rick (Judy) Barlow; 22 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren with one on the way. Preceded in death by his parents and a sister-in-law.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Feb. 17, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the Ben Lomond 5th ward building, 3350 N. 1050 East, North Ogden. Family and friends may gather Friday evening, February 16, 2018 at Myer’s Mortuary, 845 Washington Blvd, Ogden, from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday at the church from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the services. Interment will be at the Ben Lomond Cemetery 526 E. 2850 N., North Ogden.
