Lee was born on June 21, 1968 to loving and proud parents, Boyd and Deanne Birks. He was born with a determined spirit right from the beginning, entering this world at 2 lbs 8 oz and spending the first six weeks of his life at Primary Children’s Medical Center. His determination did not end there, he spent his life with many medical challenges that he worked through with strength and determination not to let them get the better of him.
Lee grew up in Woods Cross, Utah and graduated in 1987 from Woods Cross High School. He then went on to earn his Technical Degree from the Phoenix Institute of Technology. He was an avid sports fan of the Utah Jazz and Dallas Cowboys. Lee was taught many things in life by his devoted father Boyd. One of the greatest lessons he learned was his drive for hard work. He always went above and beyond to put everything he had and more into working hard and doing an exceptional job. He continued to work two jobs up until the day that he passed away.
Lee was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many callings in which he touched many lives. Love of the Gospel was instilled in him by the tender examples he received from his mother and father. He put many hours into learning everything he could and teaching the lessons to his family, friends and anyone else that had a desire to learn of the teachings. Lee had a strong testimony of the Gospel and especially the Plan of Salvation and the Atonement. He cherished and worked very hard to have a loving and close relationship with his Father in Heaven, including daily scripture study with his children. Lee’s greatest goal was living a life that would return him to his heavenly home.
Lee leaves behind three beautiful children which he adored. He felt that his children were the greatest blessing that the Lord could have ever given him. He was so proud of his children and was very grateful to be their father. His loving devotion was evident to all those that were able to hear or see the joy within him whenever he spoke of them or saw them. He had a kind, generous and endearing spirit and willingly gave this blessing to everyone he ever met.
Lee spent his last years in his Woods Cross home, lovingly caring for his parents. Lee treasured his family and would do anything is his power to make their lives happier if he was able. He honored his parents with his unending love and care. His gentle soul and determined spirit is the greatest blessing he could ever give to the world and he will dearly be missed by all that had the privilege to know him.
Lee is survived by his parents, Boyd and Deanne Birks…brother Randy (Stacy) Birks…sister Tina (Steve) Jones….His beautiful children, Emma, Shelby and Jacob…and many loving nieces and nephews.
