Molly M. Cahill


Molly M. Cahill peacefully left us on January 13, 2018.

Our beautiful, precious, spit-fire of a Mother, Sister, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother (GiGi) peacefully left this world to be with her beloved Husband and Sons, in Heaven.

Molly was born May 12, 1930 in Phoenix, AZ to Margarito and Guadalupe Alviso Martinez.

She was the second of six beautiful daughters. Lived in Imperial Valley, California for a short time and attended Boyle Heights All Girls School in Los Angeles, CA. She never lost her Southern California spirit, it shined forever in her soul.

Married the love of her life Albert Cahill on Feb. 23, 1957 in Los Angeles, CA. Lived in Downey, CA and later moved to Utah in 1960. Raised four Boys, Timothy, Thomas, Michael, and Patrick, one daughter, Mary and a nephew, John.

She spent her life dedicated to her family. She enjoyed hiking, music, gardening, dancing, golfing, traveling, and a nice glass of wine (or two). She enjoyed spending precious time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom she was very proud of.

Survived by her Children, Michael, Patrick, Mary (Paul) Cahill-Gregerson; six Grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and three sisters, Jessica “Jessie” Jones, Suzanna “Sue” Giachetti, and Margarite “Margie” Brown.  Preceded in death by her husband, Albert; sons, Timothy and Thomas; and sisters, Catalina and Martina.

A funeral mass was celebrated Friday, Jan. 19, 2018 at noon at Saint Olaf Catholic Church, 1810 South Orchard Drive, Bountiful.  Holy Rosary was recited prior and friends called from 10:45 – 11:45 a.m.  Committal, Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery, 4th Avenue and T Street, SLC.  Funeral directors, Neil O’Donnell and Sons.

Many thanks to the lovely girls at Sheer Indulgence for pampering our sweet Mom, Grandma and Great-Grandma every other weekend. Also thank you to the amazing support staff at the University of Utah Hospital, West Pavilion 5, Acute Care.
