Can’t believe we made it 60 years. Some days were questionable but we learned to talk about the problem, pray for help from the Lord and work it out and learned to make do with what we had. We were married in the Salt Lake Temple Sept. 19, 1958. We are the proud parents of a son and four daughters: Steven (Allison Roueche), Deborah (John Balone), Sharla (Garth Hanson), Brenda (Cliff Briggs), Jeanine (Brad Milliner); 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
We owned a business for 38 years which gave us incentives for travel. In the 1970’s a dear friend from Liberty, Utah started us on the computer by setting it up and showing us how to do extractions for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I’ve continued doing it. After LaVar retired in 2006, we got him started indexing for the church which he enjoyed. Within two years he did 150,000 names. We retired from working in 2003 and 2006 respectively. We served an LDS mission here at the Kaysville mill for the LDS church for 16 months and really enjoyed it!
LaVar stays busy keeping our house and yard looking its best, building, repairing and cleaning, and I have spent time making quilts for our children and grandchildren and also with the quilting ladies of the 7th ward. We’ve been keeping up with our family genealogy during all this time and it is more enjoyable as the time goes on. We’ll be spending time with family.
