Come play in the mud

BOUNTIFUL—For those who like to create with their hands there is a new ceramics store in town. Muddie Buddies opened its doors in September at 1051 S. 500 West Suite F in Bountiful.

The shop offers beginning, intermediate and advanced classes, as well as open studio time. In addition, they have one-of-a-kind pieces for sale.

“We’ll also have mini classes for prom, date night and families,” said owner Lucinda Ericksen. “We’ll do little projects for two or three weeks. We’re waiting to see what the community wants. We also sell pottery time for potters who ‘rent space’ on a monthly basis and we sell clay pottery tools.”

Ericksen said the cost of the classes include all the materials, paint, etc. to complete the project. “They’ll meet at least two times depending on the project, but they could run up to six weeks. The next class is a Thanksgiving platter.”

Muddie Buddies is hosting a grand opening Oct. 13 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. with prize drawings and snacks. Regular business hours are Monday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. with extended hours until 8 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. To sign up for classes visit the store or call 801-891-4646.

“Come help us celebrate our grand opening and check out our space,” said Ericksen. “Let the creativity begin.”
