Lewis Reid Beck passed away April 29, 2012 in St. George, Utah. He was born February 17, 1929 to Joseph Ishmael and Mabel Black Beck in Spring City, Utah. Lewis loved camping, fishing, travel and most of all, spending time with his family. He was adored by everyone and was our source of unconditional love. He was our hero and an amazing example of courage while dealing with multiple physical challenges. He always smiled, never complained, and treated each day as a miracle. Norene was the love of his life, his constant companion, and an amazing caregiver until the end.

When I was 12 I was asked to give a talk on my hero, my hero was and is my Grandpa Beck. He was a fighter. He kept going no matter what physical challenges he was facing. He never complained and never gave up. He is my true example of living life to its fullest. He always made sure to tell me how special he thought I was. I always remember him saying " Gee you're sure a pretty girl." I am so grateful for the time I had with him and for his influence and support in my life. I know that he is in a better place now and is with family who has gone before him. I picture him in Heaven giving everyone directions and the best way to get where they need to go. If there is a way to draw in Heaven he will even draw them a map. I miss him dearly but I know his work here was complete.

Love Always,

Kelly Lakey
