Melba Haacke White died in the comfort of her home the morning of December 6 from cancer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank S. White. They were married in the Salt Lake LDS. Temple on January 22, 1943.

Melba was the daughter of Herbert E. and Verona Mae Haacke. Born March 22, 1923, she was the first girl born in the Haacke family in 35 years. Melba lived her entire life in Centerville and will be buried in the Centerville City Cemetery.

Creative, artistic, compassionate, spiritual are only a few of her attributes. She leaves a void in the life of many loving friends and family members. Survived by her four children: Lawrence, Sandra Rollins, Raymond, and Ruann Meade. She leaves 12 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren. Also living are her two sisters, Peggy Stanfill and Connie Buckley.

Services to pay tribute to Melba will be held Saturday, December 15 at 11 a.m. at the Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 N. Main St., Bountiful. At Melba's request there will be no viewing.
