1939-2012



Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister, Sandra Volmar, passed away peacefully on a beautiful sunny day, May 1, 2012, with her family by her side. She was born on April 22, 1939 to George and Barbara Stokes. She graduated from Davis High School in 1957 and later earned her Associates Degree at Weber State College. Sandra married Jared R. Volmar in October of 1960 and they were sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They raised 12 beautiful children together.

Sandra is survived by her husband, Jared, twelve children, fifteen grandchildren and a new grandchild on the way. Her children are Rebecca (Don) Karmondy, Vivian (John) Whear, Deborah (Ed) Pack, Michael (Sara), Joseph (Eddie – D), Lisa, Stephen (Dave), Natalie (Richard) Trujillo, Patrick, Julie (Travis) Koury, Spencer, and Ryan (Stephanie). She is also survived by one brother and five sisters. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Sandra was loved by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. She was an extraordinary wife, mother, sister and friend. She worked tirelessly for her children and never complained. She was a highly unselfish person who always had time and love for everyone and never held grudges. Sandra was a wonderful friend to many and maintained lifelong friendships. She was known as “Grandma Sandy” to her grandchildren, who loved her dearly. She was a talented homemaker, cook, seamstress and created many beautiful keepsakes for her loved ones. She especially enjoyed making baby blankets for her grandchildren. Sandra was a compassionate, giving person who provided selfless acts of love throughout her life.

We would like to thank our Dad for the special care he gave our mother during the last years of her life. She will be dearly missed.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 4 at the Russon Brothers Mortuary, 295 North Main Bountiful. Friends and Family may visit between 1-2 p.m. Interment: Bountiful City Cemetery.
