FARMINGTON – Travel back to the 1980s without ever leaving your own neighborhood.
Farmington’s summer musical, “The Wedding Singer,” is coming to the Woodland Park amphitheater July 30-Aug. 5 at 7:30 p.m. The show, which is part of the city’s community theater season, has nontraditional seating.
“Make sure to bring your lawn chairs and blankets,” said Stephanie Gallagher, the city’s arts and special events coordinator.
The musical, which is based on the popular 1998 movie staring Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore, follows a luckless wedding singer as he falls in love with a girl who’s getting married to the wrong man. The soundtrack features several hits from the 1980s.
There will be no performances Aug. 3. Tickets are $6 at the door or $5 in advance, and can be purchased online at farmington.utah.gov. Click on the “arts” link on the left side of the page, then on the “upcoming shows” link.
The amphitheater is located at at Woodland Park, 200 E. 300 South in Farmington.
