BOUNTIFUL — Most people spend their life trying to achieve their dream.

But for Nicole Trump, a ninth grader at Millcreek Junior High, one of her dreams has already come true. On May 8, Nicole’s book “Infected” will be released nationally.

“One day during the summer when I was 12, I got bored and picked up a green notebook and a pencil and started writing,” said Nicole. She wrote the whole manuscript in longhand over the next four months. A year and-a-half later she decided to try to get it published. She typed it up, reworded some of it, and had her dad, Darrick, edit it.

“Then I went online and searched ‘publishers’ for two days,” said Nicole, “When I found Tate Publishing, I thought ‘This is the one!’ They were very honest in their requirements and left me the copyright and a fair share of the royalties. The company helps the author, not just themselves.”

ऀ Within a week the company emailed Darrick with an acceptance. “My dad called me and said, ‘They accepted it!’ And I just started crying,” said Nicole. According to Nicole’s mother Sandy, only 4 percent of what is submitted for publication actually gets accepted.

Then the long, arduous process of editing began. A year later, a book with a shiny black cover and “Nicole Trump” in bold red, is ready for release.

The book is set in the future amid a viral epidemic that reduces the world population from seven billion to four billion over two years. The infection makes the victim want to destroy other humans.

The book is “about a girl who lives on an ‘immunity reserve.’ She has been put in frozen hibernation for 15 years and now wakes up and must find or rebuild civilization with two friends.”

Oh, it Brooklyn again, you can also find me on face-book. Just search for Brooklyn Kay Dickson. Thanks a lot. I was really bored with summer and I decided my life's dream was to become an author. That and I want to win the nobel peace prize for inventing a cure for people who are allergic to dogs. Thanks for your time.

You go girl! I think it is great when people follow their dreams. My name is Brooklyn Dickson and I am a fourteen year old wanna-be author from Ogden, Utah. I wrote a book called Into the Dungeon when I was twelve and in seventh grade. Now I have made it into a three part book. I have also written a five book series called The Tables Have Turned. The books are called Flowing Up, The Winding Road, Acacia's Gift, The Circle of Thorns, and Crystal's Promise. I published them on an online self-publishing website. But I don't know how to get a real professional publisher to publish me. You must have started out like me with a dream and a good imagination so it would be great if you could write me back or call me. My email address is brooklynkay2@gmail.com and my phone number is 435-772-5686.

I met a friend of your mom's today. I don't know if you know Twilighta (Sorry I have no Idea how to spell her name) at Grandview School. She told me her friend's daughter had written a book and got it published after she saw me writing my book. It would mean so much to me if you called or emailed me. Thanks a lot. You rock!
