SALT LAKE CITYIf you want to get a taste of this year’s Sundance Film Festival, now’s your chance.

Individual tickets for Utah locals will be on sale online starting Jan. 11 at 10 a.m., with Salt Lake screenings available for $20 per person and Park City screenings are $25 for those held in the first half of the festival and $20 for those held in the second half.

If you’re planning on purchasing tickets to this year’s festival, check out the complete festival schedule well in advance of when you try to purchase tickets. Seats can go fast, especially for certain shows, and you don’t want to waste time grabbing tickets when the purchasing window opens. It’s also a good idea to plan backup movies in advance, in case the screening you originally wanted sells out fast.

The complete list of movies, as well as the schedule of screenings, is available online at There are nine categories of films, with several of the categories including more than a dozen films being screened.

If you’re looking for movies that feature the most well-known actors, you’re going to want to hunt for movies in the U.S. Dramatic and Premiere categories. Premiere movies aren’t part of the competition, so you won’t be able to vote on the movie as you leave the theater, but you’ll be expected to vote on movies in the U.S. Dramatic category as well as others. These votes are used to determine the audience awards.

Once you’ve made your selections, bookmark the ticket purchasing page, which is To find the purchasing button, which will appear when the tickets go on sale, scroll down to the “Utah Locals” category.

There is a limit of 20 tickets per individual purchaser, with a limit of 4 tickets possible per show. If you’re hoping to see a screening with a larger group than four, have two people ready to purchase the tickets – seats are determined by where you are in line, not a specific number on an individual ticket.

All purchasers must have a Utah driver’s license or state ID in order to prove their residency at the time of pick-up. There are no refunds for people who can’t prove residency.
