They were married in Provo June 13, 1949 and moved to Woods Cross in 1955. They are parents of two sons: Cory (Shauna), Farmington and Kim (Joni), Las Vegas. They are grandparents of seven and great-grandparents of four.
Both have been involved in community service. Charlie has served as a city councilman for 12 years and as a WX representative on the South Davis Sewer Board for 45 years (18 as chairman of the board). Earlier in his life he served with the first occupational troops in Japan as a member of the 3rd Combat Engineers Battalion of the U. S. Army.
Ruth was city recreation director for 13 years and still serves on the board of the Community of Promise.
They both love to travel, golf, bike and work out at the recreation center. They especially enjoy lunch with friends, family gatherings, good neighbors and Woods Cross Seniors.
It seems like yesterday that this all began. They state that a good sense of humor is the glue that endures. They love gardening, sports of all kinds, movies and share many of the same interests. Life is a gift. We are blessed.
