Rodney P. Sorensen and Norma Springer Sorensen will celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary Sept. 16.

They were married for eternity in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on Sept. 16, 1943.

They have had 70 years of happiness and have been blessed with five wonderful children: four sons, Gregory (Karla), Danny (Allyn), Gary (Jo) and Lane (divorced) and one daughter, Cathy (Ronald) Burns, who are serving their second LDS mission in Siera Leone, Africa.

These beautiful children have produced 28 grandchildren and some 40 geat-grandchildren with one great-great-grandchild.

The Sorensens also consider their two guardian Hanson boys, Rick (JoAnn) and Jeff (Helen) as part of their family. The boys lived with them for a period of approximately four years after their parents died.

Rod and Norma have lived in Bountiful since World War II on property that Norma had lived on since she was nine years old.
