BOUNTIFUL – Intermittent rain didn’t dampen the spirits of patrons of this year’s Turkey Shoot, put on by Bountiful Lion’s Club at the Bountiful Lion’s Rifle, Shotgun, and Pistol Shooting Range.
The popular three-day event, held last Friday, Saturday and Sunday, was attended by about 5.000 people from all across the Wasatch Front.
Patrons competed in a wide variety of shooting sports, including pin shoot, youth shoot, trap shoot, wobble trap and splatter board. Bingo was held at the club house as well, and concessions like hamburgers, hot dogs, and hot drinks were available.
Awards included 1,700 prizes Р mostly frozen turkeys that will grace Thanksgiving tables this week.
? The shooting range was in fine form for the event after recent improvements. The property is owned by the U.S. Forest Service, but operated by the Bountiful Lion’s Club, which remodeled the range, putting in $40,000 of safety improvements and upgrades.
Bryson Sales and Service donated a service truck and Colonial Lumber donated a new deck.
