Albert Vardell Anderson, passed away on Sunday, February 10, 2013 at Lakeview hospital, in Bountiful, surrounded by his loving family and friends. He was born on Monday, June 3, 1935 in Logan, to Ralph and Myrl (Fausett) Anderson. He was the oldest child of four. He married his sweetheart Jane (Brown) in 1958 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They were happily married for 55 years. Together they gave life to five daughters and one son. Andy led a full and productive life which included proudly serving in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1954-1961 and spent time in both Korea and Vietnam for his country. He was an active member of the Bountiful Jeep Posse for 45 years, where he took pride in helping his local community through flood, fire, search and rescue. He retired from Hill Air Force Base, during which time he received many accolades for exceptional performance. He also enjoyed working at Freeway Heating and Air Conditioning for many years. Andy was preceded in death by his parents Ralph and Myrl Anderson and his sister Dixie Hoffman of Anaheim California.
Vardell is survived by spouse Jane, Bountiful; children, Kim (Peter) Alberts, Springfield Missouri; Tina (Rick) Ellis, Centerville; LaRae Clarkson, Layton; Kathy Boothe, Kaysville; Julie Hansen, Centerville; Jim Anderson, Murray; sister, Florence (Anderson) and Warren Child, Cypress, Texas; brother, Ray T and LaNette (Olsen) Anderson, Bountiful; 27 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Friday, February 15, 2013 at Bountiful North LDS Stake Center, 1540 N. 400 East Bountiful. There was a viewing for family and friends from 9:30 to 10:45, where many loved ones came and reminisced. Interment was held at Centerville City cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to help those who struggle with Autism. A donation account has been set up with America First Credit Union under the name Albert V. Anderson.
