All-State musicians perform Saturday

SALT LAKE CITY – Student musicians from Davis County will perform with their peers from around the state at Abravanel Hall on Saturday, Jan. 18 at 2 p.m.

The students invited to participate in this year’s All-State orchestra and band were selected through an audition process.

They begin rehearsing together with a new conductor on Thursday afternoon and continue Friday and Saturday morning.

All-State Band members include Yvonne Ward of Bountiful High; Jacob Johnson of Farmington Junior High; Connor King and Ayden Olsen of Viewmont; and Trevor Austin, Nate Campbell, Michael Marsden, Brandon Mortensen and Samuel Peterson of Woods Cross.

A large group of students from Davis High were invited to participate in the All-State band, including VaNeta Burnett, Michael Christensen, Ryan Clark, Braden Eberhard, Laren Edwards, Martin Edwards, Malachi Harper, Amanda Lee, Josh Munson, Kimball Pace, Dallin Packer, Adam Schank, Zach Smith and Matthew Taylor.

Students accepted into the 2014 All-State Orchestra are Sarina Mountcastle of Bountiful; Rebecca Bagley, Bryan Burbank, Ben Mullins and Jayden Mullins of Davis; and Curtis Anderson, Zachary Benson, Noah Wood and Maddie Tolk of Woods Cross. 

The concert is free to the public. Abravanel Hall is located at 123 W. So. Temple.
