FARMINGTON — A trial has been set for May 12-13 for Brianne Altice, the former Davis High School English teacher accused of having a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old student.

Second District Judge Thomas L. Kay bound Altice, 34, over for trial at her brief arraignment on Thursday, after she pleaded not guilty to three first-degree felony counts of rape.

She is accused of having sex with the teen, who had been her student on at last three occasions between January and September of 2013.

At a preliminary hearing on Feb. 19, the teenage boy, now 17, testified to having had sex with Altice. He said they began meeting before school in a nearby church parking lot where they allegedly first had sexual intercourse.

Altice was hired by the Davis School District District in 2004. In August 2012, she transferred to Davis High School. She no longer works for the district. Altice's husband filed for divorce on Nov. 1, 2013. It was finalized on Dec. 20, 2013.
