CENTERVILLE — It was a little bit of Hollywood right here in Davis County:

The limousine bringing the stars, the red carpet, the cameras clicking away, the stars telling about their experiences during filming, the producers explaining their vision and hope for the movie.

It was the premiere screening of “Redemption,” the story of a 1862 incident that gets fleshed out and fictionalized by screenwriter Tom Russell in a film produced by Firstlight Independent in association with Covenant Communications.

The Larry H. Miller Megaplex at Centerville Legacy Crossing hosted a gathering of mayors, county officials and Antelope Island enthusiasts at the premiere Thursday that preceded Friday’s opening. Also in attendance was a descendant of one of the characters depicted in the film.
