ANTELOPE ISLAND — The Antelope Island Balloon and Kite Stampede is coming to Antelope Island on Labor Day weekend, Sept. 4-6.
This is a community event in Davis County that ties in with the excitement of the event itself, with balloonist visits to area elementary schools. It generates increased visibility of Davis County’s natural treasure – Antelope Island.
This unique event is called a “Stampede” – as opposed to a balloon and kite festival – to capitalize on its unique location and the association that the community places with Antelope Island State Park, its 800 head of bison and the natural surroundings of the island.
The island is the perfect venue for balloonists as there are no flight or landing obstructions and due to the relative flatness of the terrain.
Dramatic scenic backdrops provide stunning vistas for guests to the island. And when the balloons aren’t flying, there’s nonstop entertainment on the stage, at vendor booths and at activity stations.
There are many benefits to supporting this exciting event.
The Antelope Island Balloon and Kite Stampede is a function of the Davis Chamber of Commerce and is run by a long list of prominent Davis County activists.
The fact that the stampede is four years old speaks to the staying power of the event and the commitment of the volunteer, nonprofit committee members.
Keep your eyes aloft and Join us for an exciting and fun weekend for the entire family.
