LAYTON –  The Bank of American Fork has opened its first Davis County branch in Layton.

It is at 476 W. Heritage Park Boulevard Suite 100. The building formerly housed the old America West Bank and Cache Valley Bank, which handled affairs there after America West closed several years ago.

Dale Smith is branch manager and Laurie Criddle is operations manager.

An advisory board of three experienced community bankers has been formed to assist the bank in getting to know the community as it opens in Davis County, a bank press release said.

The advisory board includes long-time community leaders Ned Giles, Gary Wright and Jerry Stevenson.

The branch brings to 13 the number of locations for the Utah County-headquartered bank, which is arguably the largest community bank in the state.

“We already have a strong customer base in Davis County with people who know us and appreciate working with a locally-owned community bank,” said Richard Beard, president and CEO of Bank of American Fork.

The bank is a subsidiary of People’s Utah Bancorp, and was established in 1913. It has more than $920 million in assets and operates across Utah and Salt Lake Counties in addition to the one Davis County branch.
