HILL AFB – Motorcyclists will ride the streets around Hill AFB today, at 11 a.m. in support of the See Me, Save Me campaign, which aims to get motorists to watch more closely for motorcyclists, said Allan Woods, Hill AFB motorcycle safety program manager.
Local law enforcement and the Utah Highway Patrol will provide escorts, and intersections will be closed as the ride progresses, a press release from the base said.
In 2012 there were 33 motorcycle-related fatalities according to the Zero Fatalities’ campaign website, ut.zerofatalities.com.
In the last two years, Hill AFB has lost two people to motorcycle crashes.
The Utah Department of Public Safety’s website lists a number of rider skills training courses at publicsafety.utah.gov.
