Bountiful Braves youth team crowned AAU champions

     The Bountiful Braves fifth grade basketball team won their AAU Division II State Championship on Tuesday, April 26, beating the Draper Speed 28-17. Henry Smith led Bountiful with 15 points, 16 rebounds and 14 blocks in the championship game and averaged a triple-double through the entire tournament. Garret Tietjen was Bountiful’s second-leading scorer and William Smith led the team in assists.

     The championship win was the second AAU-sanctioned victory for Bountiful this season, which are coached by Jordan and John Maxwell.

     Their recent success earned them an invitation to the AAU National Championships in Florida.
