WOODS CROSS – The Bountiful Braves boys’ basketball team accomplished two things Thursday night in its 72-62 win over rival Woods Cross.

With the win, Bountiful swept the season series in basketball taking all four combined games. The win for the boys’ team also meant the team locked up its second Region 6 title in a row.

Leading the Braves in the sweep were Sam Merrill and Zach Seljaas, who finished with 21 and 18 points, respectively.

Jordan Bleak scored nine points and Pere LeSeuer scored seven points.

For Woods Cross, Skyler Farnes led the Wildcats with a game-high 27 points and four 3-pointers. Hayden Grant scored seven points and Brady Cowley, Filipo Mokofisi and Xequille Harry each scored six points in the losing effort. The win for Bountiful was its 17th straight.

Woods Cross dropped its second consecutive game.

Bountiful’s final game of the regular season will be Tuesday night at Highland. A win will give the Braves their second consecutive undefeated record in Region 6 play.

Woods Cross will finish the season at Clearfield Tuesday night. A win and a loss by East could put the Wildcats in the 4A playoffs as the No. 3 team from the region.
