FARMINGTON — A 43-year-old Bountiful man was sentenced to prison last week for sexual abuse of a child.

Michael Lon Gailey, 43, was found guilty in March of three counts of first-degree felony sexual abuse of a child.

He was sentenced on April 30 to serve 15 years to life in the Utah State Prison on each count. Second District Judge David Hamilton ordered two of those sentences to run consecutively, while the third  was to run concurrently.

A jury found Gailey guilty of inappropriately touching a girl with whom he held a position of trust.

Court documents say the abuse happened between May of 2008 and June of 2010. The victim was 11 at the time of the abuse and is now 16.

Gailey still maintains his innocence.
