BOUNTIFUL – Bountiful’s Kaden Larsen caught two touchdowns, and Houston Heimuli ran for another touchdown Friday night against Kearns High School as the Braves earned their second Region 6 victory in a 35-18 victory.

Larsen, who played at receiver most of the night, caught his first touchdown of the season from Trevor Lloyd. The five yard touchdown gave Bountiful its first touchdown on the night and a 7-0 lead.

Larsen’s second touchdown occurred in the third quarter when Lloyd found the junior receiver for a 14-yard touchdown. The touchdown gave the Braves a 35-0 lead at the time.

The Braves defense completely shut down the Cougars offense in the first half, forcing a pair of sacks during one Kearns drive that eventually aided in Bountiful’s fourth touchdown of the game.

As Kearns was driving, Braves’ defensive end Taylor Gulbransen sacked Kearns’ quarterback Bailey Floyd twice, forcing the Cougars to punt. On the ensuing drive, Bountiful’s Jordan Hayes found Brady Litz for a 74-yard touchdown.

The touchdown gave the Braves a 28-0 halftime lead.

Kearns made an effort in the second half, scoring on a 62-yard touchdown pass from Gulbransen to Amone Finau to cut its deficit to 35-6 after the missed extra point attempt.

Gulbransen found Finau two more times in the fourth quarter, but couldn’t complete the comeback effort.

Ryan Curtis also scored a touchdown, catching a 26 yard touchdown pass from Jordan Hayes in the second quarter for a 14-0 lead at the time.

Bountiful will hit the road Friday night, taking on the Cyprus Pirates at Cyprus High School.
