BOUNTIFUL - It’s a chance for residents to show what they’re capable of.

“Bountiful’s Got Talent” is holding its annual performance June 20 starting at 7 p.m. at Bountiful City Park. All of the final nominees will perform, including singers, guitarists, a band and ukulele player. Wesley Ruff, a sports anchor on ABC4, will serve as emcee.

“I’m always impressed by the talent our community has,” said Tori Beck, one of the judges. “It’s just so fun to see everyone and all the different talent they have.”

Cash prizes will be awarded to the top winners at the end of the evening. The judging and notification is held earlier, however, allowing everyone to focus on the performances rather than the competition.

“I think it’s more stressful for the performers than it is for the judges,” said Beck. “This way, they can come and hopefully just have fun and do their talent.”

There’s no set criteria for choosing a winner, with everything from skill to creativity included in the evaluation.

“We go by a point system,” she said. “That’s why there are several judges.”

Still, it can be challenging to determine which performer is the most talented.

“I wish everyone could win,” she said. “Still, everyone is a winner for coming out and sharing their talents.”

For any performers out there wanting to be part of that group, Beck urges them not to be shy. The competition welcomes a variety of talents, including comedy, and anyone with a tie to Bountiful is welcome to participate.

“Start getting whatever you want to perform ready and just come out,” said Beck. “Win or lose, it’s a fun experience.”

Bountiful City Park is located at 400 N. and 200 West. Representatives from Bountiful Food Pantry will be at the concert accepting donations.
