BOUNTIFUL – The Bountiful Lady Braves girls’ basketball team picked up its second win in Region play Tuesday night after taking down East 50-43.

The win, Bountiful’s third straight, was led by Kennedy Merrick’s 23-point game as two other Lady Braves ended the game with 10-plus points each. Tiana Dougher added 12 and Jenny Skedros scored 10 as the Braves outscored the Leopards 34-26 in the second half.

Madison Roemer led East with 19 points in the loss.

Lady Vikings extend streak to six games

The Viewmont Lady Vikings girls’ basketball team won its sixth straight game Tuesday night when it beat Hunter 55-45.

Caitlyn Larsen and Katie Toole, the Vikings’ top two scorers this season, added to their season scoring totals by scoring 16 and 15 points, respectively, in the win. The duo also led the offense last Friday in a win over Granger, scoring 21 points each.

Davis winning streak snapped

The Lady Darts had a rough game against Weber Tuesday night, suffering a 43-38 loss that snapped a seven game winning streak dating back to mid-December.

With only Jessica Richardson scoring in double figures, the senior scored a team-high 14 points in the losing effort. Morgan Hartvigsen added nine points and Natalie Mecham scored six points in the loss.

The loss was preceded by a 47-38 win over Syracuse that saw Richardson finish with a double-double (10 points, 10 rebounds) and Mecham scoring 10 points.

Wildcats drop fifth straight

The losing streak for the Woods Cross girls’ basketball team continued Tuesday night as the Lady Wildcats lost their fifth straight game, this time to Cyprus, 76-57.

Despite strong efforts by Aubree Riddle, Camille Horrocks and Eden Jacobsen, who each finished with 10-plus points in the game, the Wildcats were outscored in all four quarters.
