Caregiver support classes starting

The Davis County Health Department’s Family Caregiver Support Program is offering a six-week series of classes for individuals caring for family members who are older or frail. Classes start the week of April 6. 

These classes are free to the public. Individuals may attend at anytime.

The one hour classes will be offered on Tuesdays starting April 8 at the Legacy Village Retirement Living dining room,1201 N. Fairfield Road, Layton, or on Thursdays starting April 10 at the Golden Years Senior Activity Center, 726 S. 100 East, Bountiful. Classes start at noon. 

The class series ends Tuesday, May 13, or Thursday, May 15. A complimentary light lunch is provided but an RSVP by each Monday at noon is required to receive a meal. No reservation is required to attend the class.

Ґ April 22 and 24: “A More Flexible You: Physical and Mental Flexibility Tips” Р Denise Cook, Synergy Homecare, and Don Williams, Aspen Ridge Physical Therapy 

Ґ  April 29 and May 1: “Home Health vs. Hospice” Р Kathy Yarbrough, Gentiva Hospice

Ґ May 6 and 8: TBA

Ґ May 13 and 15: “Self Care for Family Caregivers” Р Michelle Johnson, Thatcher Brook Home Health and Hospice.
