BOUNTIFUL – It’s a chance for the people of Davis County to lift their voices in song.
The Joy Foundation is welcoming everyone in the county to join together for caroling on Saturday, Dec. 22 from 4 to 6 p.m. The group is planning to carol along Main Street before the stores close.
“After everything that’s been happening in the news, we’re just trying to bring a little peace to the earth,” said Jane Joy, head of the foundation. “We want all ages to come together for this.”
Interested participants should meet at the group’s new home on 38 E. 400 South in Bountiful. Carolers will then break into groups, sing on the streets, then meet back at the starting location for pizza.
“It will give us a chance to just enjoy each other’s company,” said Joy.
The group has met for years in the basement of the Bountiful/Davis Art Center, but has been forced to relocate. The BDAC building is scheduled to be demolished in early 2013 to make room for a new city hall.
“We’ve had to stop our open mic nights because we don’t have room,” said Joy. “But we’re going to move forward.”
