Celebration focuses on Constitution

BOUNTIFUL — The fifth annual Freedom Light Celebration will be held Sept. 16-18 at the Bountiful City Park, 400 North 200 West.

The event, a celebration of the United States Constitution, begins Monday at 6 p.m., with several activities. Timothy Ballard, author of “The Covenant: One Nation Under God,” will speak at 8 p.m.

In Ballard’s study of the most significant events in America’s history, he he has come to believe that God is the author of this nation, according to a press release from the Freedoms Light organization.

Activities continue during the day on Wednesday, Sept. 17 and 18.

Included among the attractions are: impersonations of Christopher Columbus, Joan of Arc, and the Founding Fathers; a recreation of Pilgrim and Jamestown lifestyles; a representation of Ellis Island and how immigrants became new citizens, including a U.S. citizenship test and Oath of Citizenship; and a speech by World War II fighter pilot Col. Jack Tueller.
