SALT LAKE CITY ó Charges have been filed against four airmen from Hill Air Force Base in connection with a Salt Lake nightclub shooting on Saturday. Airman 1st Class Daniel C. Clemons, 19, was charged Tuesday with first degree attempted murder and aggravated robbery, and third degree felony counts of use of a firearm by a restricted person and failure to respond to an officerís order to stop in the shooting which happened in front of the Club Manhattan, 5 E. 400 South. Airman 1st Class Jeremy Crist, 20, was charged with felony obstruction of justice and failing to stop for an officer.

Police say that Clemons argued with a group of men outside the club. During the argument, Clemons allegedly pointed with an SKS assault rifle at one of the men, who managed to grab the barrel and wrestle the weapon from Clemons. That man threw the rifle to the ground and ran, while two other men fled to the club. Clemons then allegedly picked up the rifle and shot the victim in the torso.

Police say as they were arresting Crist, Airman 1st Class Destinee Williams, 22, called Cristís cell phone and one of the officers answered. She allegedly asked him, ìDid you get our guy?î and Airman 1st Class Tacota Lemuel, 19, allegedly agreed to help get the two men out of town. They are both facing third-degree charges of obstruction of justice.

Clemons is facing charges for attempted murder in New Jersey in connection with a 2007 murder.
