Our loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather passed away November 21, 2012 at the George E. Wahlen Ogden Veterans Home. Clare Albert Banks Jr. was born January 22, 1930 in Springville, to Clare A and Dona C Banks. Clare honorably served in the US Navy and later the US Army in the Korean War where he received the Purple Heart.

Clare married the love of his life Colleen Lee and together raised their family in Bountiful.

Clare was blessed with a servant’s heart and was always willing and able to assist anyone and everyone with whatever the task may be. He loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting and camping with his family at Strawberry Reservoir and Flaming Gorge were activities he lived for.

Clare is survived by his wife Colleen of Bountiful, children Randy Banks (Ann) from a previous marriage, Jeff Banks (Kathy), Albuquerque, NM; Julie White (Dave), Farmington; Jim Banks (Karen), Woods Cross; 15 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, brothers, Gary Banks (Gayle), Centerville; Mike Banks (Kathy), Salt Lake City.

Our family wishes to express gratitude to the nurses, volunteers and staff at George E. Wahlen Ogden Veterans Home who mixed their professionalism with love and empathy, helping to create an environment that made Dad's passing filled with dignity.

Funeral services and viewings will be held at Russon Brothers Mortuary 1941 N Main, Farmington. Friends and family may visit Monday, November 26 between 6 and 8 p.m. and Tuesday November 27 9:45 to 10:45 am prior to the funeral service.
