BOUNTIFUL — It was a clean sweep last Thursday for south Davis County high schools as Bountiful, Davis, Viewmont and Woods Cross picked up wins over Weber, Taylorsville, Cyprus and Highland, respectively.

In a non-region match Saturday, the Lady Braves also picked up a 3-2 win over Montgomery, Calif., marking the team’s third straight win and seven of its last eight overall.

Davis’ double-overtime, 3-2 win over the Weber Warriors gave the Darts their sixth region win in seven games. It all but gives the Darts a region championship, as they have only two games remaining on their schedule as of press time.

In the win, Regyn Youngberg, Sydnee Vidal and Emma Farley scored. Youngberg and Vidal notched their third goals of the season for Davis, and Farley scored her first goal of the season in the win.

The Lady Vikings 2-1 win over Taylorsville saw Viewmont split its pair of goals between the first and second half. With a one-goal lead entering the second half, the Vikings scored a second goal before Abi Black of Taylorsville knotted her 27th goal of the season. With Viewmont’s defense holding strong, the Vikings remained undefeated in Region 2 play with a 7-0 record.

Viewmont’s win was the team’s closest match since beating West 3-1 on Sept. 6. The Vikings have allowed just four goals in region play and 10 goals overall in 13 games this season.

Bountiful’s 8-0 win over Cyprus Thursday saw the Lady Braves score four goals in each half, forcing the game to end early as Bountiful picked up its third shutout of the season. Following the win, Bountiful headed to California in a non-region match, winning 3-2 behind Kennedy Merrick’s hat trick.
