That effort is one of the major charms of North Salt Lake’s Three Kings cycling event, set for June 16 starting at 7:30 a.m. at Hatch Park. Designed for moderate to advanced riders looking to challenge themselves, the course involves timed climbs up either one or all three of the city’s steepest inclines.
“It’s awesome, but it’s not easy,” said Matt Jensen, the North Salt Lake City council member who helps organize the event. “We hope that, when people finish, they’ll feel like they’ve done something significant.”
Registration is available at Hatch Park starting at 6:30 a.m. the day of the event, for $35 a person (online registration includes a $5 discount). According to Jensen, the registration cap is being set at 300 people, so make certain to get there early.
