LAYTON – Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials have deported a Mexican man who is suspected in his wife’s disappearance from Mexico City in 2002.

Agents found Ivan Tapia-Cacique, 40, in Layton, where they believed he has lived for the past 10 years.

ICE spokesman Andrew Munoz said agents arrested Tapia-Cacique in October.  He was held in a county jail until  his deportation on Tuesday, Nov. 26.

He is facing homicide charges in connection with the disappearance of his wife, Georgina Rocha-Lona.
