FARMINGTON – A Woods Cross man accused of injuring his 6-month-old son is heading to trial on Feb. 24.
Ryan Keith Knight, 25, is charged with two counts of second-degree felony child abuse.
He pleaded not guilty on July 11.
Knight is accused of breaking the boy’s femur and shoulder blade in June.
Knight was the child’s caregiver before the mother saw the injury, according to charging documents. When she arrived home, the mother noticed her son’s leg was bent “in a strange direction,” the documents indiate.
The mother took the infant to the doctor where the injuries wre revealed in an x-ray.
Woods Cross Police received a report from the Division of Child & Family Services about the infant.
Knight waived his Miranda rights when he was was interviewed by police and allegedly told them he had pulled and twisted the baby’s legs, according to the charging document. He also allegedly held the boy by the arm and leg and swung him around.
