The opinions stated in this column are solely those of the author and not of the Davis Clipper.

As I write this column, the first snow of the season is falling. I am inspired and the time is ripe for the annual Cyclops Christmas carol.  This year the song is “Sen. Mike Lee’s Neverland” (sung to the tune of “Winter Wonderland”).

Sing along with Cyclops:

“Mike’s ego is just busting. He thinks Democrats are disgusting. He’ll use all his cunning, To stop the government from running As a part of Mike Lee’s Neverland.”

“Mike smiles hale and hearty While speaking to the Tea Party. He blasts liberals he is hatin’ Calls Obama the Great Satan. It brings applause in Mike Lee’s Neverland.”

“Compromise is of the devil, Mike will never cut and settle. If federal workers lose their pay, We didn’t need them anyway. They’re road kill in Mike Lee’s Neverland.”

“His radical right coalition Cares little for the $28 million That Utah taxpayers lost, It was just a small cost Of freedom in Mike Lee’s Neverland.”

“His best gift for Christmas Is seeing Republicans grimace. He’s separate from the batch That admire Orrin Hatch, They’re not a part of Mike Lee’s Neverland.”

“Republicans are in a quandary, Try not to air dirty laundry, But they fear they will lose With guys like Lee and Cruz. Most oppose Mike Lee’s Neverland.”

“But he shouldn’t feel too cocky, He won’t be running against Rocky. Mitt Romney’s son is thinking, As Mike’s poll numbers are shrinking He could send Mike back to Never-Neverland.”
