NORTH SALT LAKE — A statement from the Utah Department of Environmental Quality released on Thursday says that if medical waste incinerator Stericycle fails to comply with new rules,  “DEQ will pursue all legal options to revoke its permit.”

The division released a revised notice of violation on Aug. 28 as a follow-up to the May notice.

“The revised Notice of Violation includes stiff penalties and improvements that provide a strong deterrent from future exceedances of those standards,” the press release from the DEQ reads.
