The win improved Davis' preseason record to 2-0 while Bountiful fell to 0-2. The Darts still have one more non-conference game remaining before they open the Region 1 season this Thursday at Fremont.
Bountiful fell to 0-2 and are already in the midst of the Region 5 season with their opener today against Murray in Bountiful. The Braves have been outscored by a total of five goals to two so far their first two games.
Bountiful didn't go throughout the first half without their chances on offense though. The Braves' Doug Clark had a couple of chances himself at breaking the tie but couldn't convert.
Also, Matt Nevill of Bountiful missed a long attempt around the 28-minute mark that could have given Bountiful the lead.
Davis' Zach Dupaix was one of the real villains in this one for Davis. At the 37-minute mark, the all-out, hustling forward got the Darts the lead on a great play he made on the ball.
Bountiful came right back and had three great chances on two throw-ins from the right hand corner of the Davis goal area.
The Braves had some good looks and made some good plays on the ball, but couldn't tie the game back up going into halftime.
The second half started out much like the first half did for Bountiful. The Braves seemed to be flying all over the field while Davis seemed content with their lead.
The Braves' effort didn't pay off early though. Again, Bountiful couldn't get anything going scoring wise until the 50-minute mark when Josh Siddoway put in a beautiful header to tie the game back up 2-2.
Davis wasted no time in getting that lead back, especially after Clark missed another big chance to take the lead for Bountiful.
About a minute later Hershel Hugie was fouled blatantly in the Bountiful penalty box and was awarded a free penalty kick.
Hugie didn't fail in this attempt and as the Bountiful goalie was diving to the right hand corner of the net, Hugie grounded it into the left hand corner to give the Darts the lead for good 3-2 in the 57th minute.
Only five minutes elapsed between the Hugie penalty goal and a great one-timer goal from Ryan Satterthwaite to put Davis in command 4-2.
Davis scored four goals just twice last year and are already halfway there this season.
Bountiful will need to get some offense going or they will have a long season.
Their defense will keep them in games, but they'll need to score around two goals a game on average if they want to win some games in Region 5.
