BOUNTIFUL – Davis County is predicted to be among the top 50 growth areas in the nation in coming years.
The Ogden-Clearfield metropolitan area, which covers all of Davis County, is projected to be the 26th-fastest growing in terms of percentage growth. That’s according to a report released this week by Pitney Bowes Software’s Data Analytics. It projects growth of 5.5 percent between now and 2017, or the addition of 9,723 people. That would be like adding another city the size of West Point or Woods Cross.
The Provo-Orem area takes the top spot. It is projected to grow by 7.4 percent.
When absolute growth is factored in, large population centers dominate. That top 50 list includes only Salt Lake City metro, which is projected to add 16,117 people by 2017.
The information was provided in Pitney Bowes’ first-ever Metro Magnets Index.
