FARMINGTON — Davis County was awarded the 2012 Accessible Voting Award for its efforts in making polling stations available to voters of all physical ability levels.

The efforts included ensuring that all stations included ramps.

The award, given by the Disability Law Center and Grassroots Advocacy Partnership, was one of two awards given annually.

According to the disability law center, more than 35 million Americans with disabilities are eligible to vote but only 15 million vote, leaving 20 million people with disabilities are not voting.
