KAYSVILLE - The Davis High School Darts have been one of the few south Davis County teams to start the volleyball season in 2013.

Attempting to come back from a loss against Pleasant Grove, the Lady Darts took to their home court in the hopes of getting their first win of the season.

Instead, they lost for the second straight time, dropping to the Bingham Miners in a clean sweep, 3-0.

After the first game ended quickly with a Miners’ 25-12 victory, Davis attempted to even the match by going point-for-point early in the second game. Davis still fell in the second game 25-18, and even though the third game was much closer, the Lady Darts couldn’t extend the match to a fourth game.

The sweep was completed with a Miners’ 25-22 win.

After dropping just two matches all season in 2012, Davis has already lost two matches in 2013.

Upcoming games

As most schools are still waiting to get their respective volleyball seasons started, Viewmont will be the next school to start its season from the south end. The Lady Vikings will travel to Granger High School to take them on Thursday evening at 6 p.m.

Woods Cross will start its volleyball season Tuesday, Sept. 10 when the Wildcats travel to Cyprus to face the Pirates in Region 6 play. Bountiful will play in the Round Table Rumble Tournament starting Friday, Aug. 30 at Northridge High School in Layton.

The tournament will run through Saturday.
