SOUTH JORDAN С Behind three goals from three different players, the Davis Lady Darts soccer team moved to 3-0 on the season with 3-1 win over the Bingham Miners Tuesday afternoon.
The first half between the Lady Darts and Lady Miners ended in a 1-1 draw after Bingham’s Kaitlin La and Davis’ Abbey Mann each scored a goal.
When the second half began, Melanie Ostler moved from defense to offense and immediatly contributed to the Darts’ third win in three games. The senior picked up an assist when Chelsie Dunn scored to break the tie, then added to the lead by scoring a goal to finish the game.
Davis’ 10 goals scored has come from six different players so far, a stark contrast to last year’s team, with had Kenzie Harrison (who graduated) leading the team with 19 goals. Chelsie Dunn leading the team with three goals. Ostler’s goal was her second while Abbey Mann added her first goal of the season in the win.
Others who have scored goals for Davis in its first three games include Ireland Dunn, Madi Garlock, Sydney Vidal and Regyn Youngberg.
The Lady Darts have yet to record a shutout through three games, allowing a single goal to Bingham, Woods Cross and Skyline.
Davis attempts to continue on its winning streak with a game against Bonneville at home Tuesday. The Lady Darts conclude its preseason schedule with a road game against Bountiful next Thursday.
After the game against Bountiful, the Lady Darts schedule will alternate between road and home games, starting with Syracuse on the road on Thursday, Aug. 30.
