Deanne Drake, 56, died peacefully on October 31, 2012, of sudden complications in her battle against cancer. She was born July 14, 1956, in Provo, Utah, to Edgar C. and Raema H. Drake. She grew up in California and Bountiful, Utah. She graduated from Bountiful High School, attended Ricks College and Salt Lake Community College, and performed well at several jobs.
Deanne enjoyed nature, travel, reading, music, puzzles, and friends. She loved her extended family, especially nephews and nieces and their families--she was a second mother and grandmother to them. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints; she loved her four years of service in the Salt Lake and Bountiful Temples, and her many years of teaching every class and music in the Primary organization. In any ward she attended, she knew and loved all of the children in the ward.
Deanne is survived by her parents, Edgar C. and Raema H. Drake, her siblings Dennis H. (Phyllis) Drake, Gene (Earlene) Drake, Lyle (Lucy) Drake, Brian Drake, Lorraine (Bret) Baird, and Paul (LeAnn) Drake, and her much-loved nieces and nephews and their children.
A funeral service was held Saturday, November 3, at 11 a.m. at the Morningside Third Ward chapel, 912 S. 1740 E., St. George. Interment was in the Kanab City Cemetery under the direction of Mosdell Mortuary.
