A gracious and warmhearted woman, Elizabeth Anna Fassman Neeley, flew to her heavenly home on December 1, 2013, following a short bout with cancer. She was surrounded by her family as she took her last breath. The family and friends of this beautiful soul will miss her dearly.
Elizabeth was born on March 29, 1927 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the eldest daughter of Willy and Anna Fassmann, newly married immigrants from Germany who wanted to raise their family and live in America. Elizabeth married her high school sweetheart, Marvin Neeley, on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 1946. They celebrated 67 happy years together. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Billy, and a son, John. She leaves behind her husband, Marvin, a daughter, Maria (David) Cartwright, two grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and a sister, Eleanor Hoagland.
Elizabeth was a multi-talented lady who played the piano beautifully and wrote poetry. She also collected essays, poems and musical recordings and shared them with others, which was typical of her unselfish nature. Her happy, optimistic ways endeared her to all she knew with her gift to say just the right thing.
She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and enjoyed the variety of callings in which she served. Her dependability and willingness was unmatched – a true follower of Christ all her life.
