SALT LAKE CITY - Family history enthusiasts interested in doing research in several specific locations are invited to free classes at the Family History Library in April.

Classes on German and Pennsylvania research are being offered on Saturday, April 12.

Topics for the German research classes include: “Using Genealogy.net Online Ortsfamilienbucher,” (German village linage books), “Finding Your German Ancestor using Online Addressbooks,” and “Using Metasearch to Maximize Your Findings on Genealogy.net.” The classes run from 9:5 a.m. to 12:15 p.m

The Pennsylvania research classes include: “Overview,” “Court Records,” “Vital and Church Records,” and “Land Records.” These classes will run from 9:30 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.

Then, on Saturday, April 19, a series of classes on Norwegian research will be offered, including “Emigration Records for Norway,” and “Finding Ancestors in Farm Books.” Classes will run from 9:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.

Also on April 19, a course for Spanish-speaking patrons, “Preguntas Frecuentes Sobre el Arbol Familiar,” will be offered at 1 p.m. It will last 90 minutes.

A series of classes on Irish research will be offered on Saturday, April 26. Topics include “Irish Research Online, Parts 1 and 2,” and “Ireland Reseach Online Practice Time.” Classes will run from 9:15 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

On Saturdays, parking is free to library patrons located behind the Church History Museum, 45 N. West Temple.
