FamilySearch focus of genealogy meeting

BOUNTIFULThe UVTAGG (Utah Valley Technology and Genealogy Group – Formerly the Utah Valley PAF Users Group) will be on March 11 from 9 a.m. to noon in the LDS “Red Chapel” in Provo.  The main presentation will be by FamilySearch’s David Ouimette, and will focus on how FamilySearch produces billions of searchable records.  

Ouimette, CG, CGL, manages Content Strategy at FamilySearch, prioritizing records for digitization and publication.  He has conducted archival research in dozens of countries across all continents.  He lectures at national genealogical conferences and institutes, serves as a trustee of the Board of Certification of Genealogists, and authored “Finding Your Irish Ancestors: A Beginner’s Guide.”  

The “Red Chapel” is located at 4050 North Timpview Drive (650 East) in Provo.
