BOUNTIFUL — Father and son snowmobilers who spent last Wednesday night in the Tuttle Mine Loop area near the Bountiful “B” on the mountain were cold and hungry last Thursday when found, but otherwise OK.
Robert Sutton, 41, and Cole Sutton, 15, were reported missing by family members at about 10:30 a.m. on Thursday.
They had gone snowmobiling Wednesday and expected to return home that night. However, a snowstorm made it hard for them to see, so they contacted their family by phone and said they would spend the night on the mountain, said Davis County Sheriff’s Sgt. Susan Poulsen.
Thursday morning, the pair text-messaged the family saying they couldn’t start their snowmobiles, so the family members contacted Davis County Search and Rescue.
At about 4 p.m., while authorities were searching, two civilian snowmobilers in the area found the pair.
They were examined by medical personnel at the scene and released.
