FARMINGTON — A former charter school basketball coach who pleaded guilty to having sex with a minor has been sentenced to serve four consecutive terms — up to 20 years — in the Utah State Prison.

Stephen Paul Niedzwieki, 34 was in 2nd District Court on Thursday, where he was sentenced to four consecutive, five year prison terms.

Niedzwiecki pleaded guilty in January to four third-degree felony counts that included two counts of unlawful sexual activity with a minor and two counts of unlawful sexual activity with a 16-to17-year old.

Niedzwiecki was the basketball coach at Jefferson Academy in Kaysville.

Following Niedzwiecki 's guilty plea, his victim, Jaime Heiner went public, advocating for Prevent Child Abuse Utah and started her own victim-empowerment organization, I Am.
